Flint and Forged Steel

As a last blacksmithing of year 2010, I have forged this Fire steel out of metal file.

I have designed it so that it will act as a belt hook to hang knife or possible/tinder pouch or my kukusa.

Here is how much spark it produces. I do not need to strike hard and it produces pretty good mount of sparks.

This was my first time ever making this and trying this method of fire making, but it was surprisingly easy to make Char cloth catch spark.

This is much more fun way to start fire than using FireSteel.
